As I have mentioned a few blogs ago that our God who created the universe & everything in it works in so many creative ways that are beyond our imagination to set individuals free through the gospel of Jesus Christ.  It is always us who limit God’s works by relying on our own wisdom, abilities, experiences (both successes & failures), current trends & what happens to be hip in our world.

I think oftentimes we try too hard to figure out & execute what only God can show us & empower us to do.

The biblical truth is that God has a plan for us, His children & His servants.

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).”

Of course His plans for our lives are quite complex to say the least, and this conglomerate of God’s complex but perfect plans are something that only He can oversee & orchestrate in our individual lives, and it is ALWAYS for His glory.  Please follow with me this simple logic.  If God has a plan for our lives, and according to Job 42:2, “No purpose of Yours can be thwarted”, He will reveal what He desires from us in HIS perfect time.  It usually means when we are humble & ready to listen & obey.  The question has never been what we should do to further His kingdom because God already has in mind what He’s going to do, and I believe that He does not keep that a secret from us.  He is never silent, just open His Word & see how clearly He speaks.  The REAL QUESTION is would we submit & obey His calling for our lives?

God has shown us in the Bible time after time that those who say yes will experience & witness what only God can do in their lives.

I witnessed this last Sunday.  Two of our OMF missionaries, a married couple, are sharing the gospel in an amazing way.  They have taken on the roles of Hudson Taylor & his wife in a play that shows God’s love for the Chinese people.  They have been in Taiwan about 5 years, but manage to act the hour long play completely in Mandarin.  They are currently traveling throughout Taiwan to share the message of God’s love.  Not an easy task, but through their obedience, God is working creatively & mightily in the hearts of many Taiwanese.

From Genesis to Revelation, God has never been silent, and He is not silent now.  We are simply too distracted or self-absorbed.  Quiet your souls, and find yourselves in the presence of God & in His truth, and you will discover that He’s been speaking to us all along.

The question is, “Will we obey His voice?”  In fact, everything comes down to this question.  Do we trust Him & love Him enough to obey?
