OMF Field Conference 2016

OMF Field Conference 2016

Once a year OMF holds a 5 day field conference for all of its missionaries in Taiwan to worship together, encourage one another & for training.  As always I was encouraged, challenged & inspired by other missionaries & also by messages shared by our speaker & leaders.

There were too many encouragements to mention, but I have to say that our veteran missionaries continue to inspire & challenge me.  They have truly laid down their lives for our Lord, for the gospel & for the people of Taiwan.  The fact that they have been here for 25 plus years speaks a volume.  I am always impacted by their humility, joy & love… side effects of walking closely with & obediently to our Lord.  I pray that we may also walk the same path that leads to salvation of Taiwanese & honors our Savior Jesus.

It’s a path that calls for personal holiness, perseverance & faith in God’s Word.

Ultimately it is the truth of God that the Holy Spirit uses to bring about changes in a person’s heart & mind.  It results in restoration of relationships, especially one’s relationship with God.  It also causes rebirth where one’s past no longer cripples him/her nor defines his/her identity, and furthermore, freedom to live fearlessly & love boldly.  For these reasons, we are so grateful to the Lord for providing more opportunities to share His truth despite our limitations in speaking Mandarin.

This week, Jeanette went into a Taiwanese elementary school to share the story of Joseph and Pharaoh’s dreams from Genesis 41.  We will also be meeting with a couple of Taiwanese young adults to share & discuss about missions.  On Sunday, we’ll be speaking at a small group for couples.  We ask for your prayers that we can communicate clearly and that the Holy Spirit will allow the truth of God to come alive and touch their hearts despite the weakness of the vessels.

God is so gracious.  It is our ongoing prayer that our life & ministry will be characterized by 2 Corinthians 4:7.

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”
