Transitioning back to life in the U.S.

Dear friends & family,

What we have always loved & enjoyed about being in ministry are the relationships that God has placed in our lives to encourage us, pray for us & serve the Lord together.  After all these years of being in ministry, it’s your friendship that continues to remind us of our God’s love & compassion.  Thank you so much for your understanding, empathy & being there for us when we needed it the most.

Although past month or so has been quite hectic & stressful, I don’t have to tell you that our Lord God is so faithful & gracious.  He is always working for our good for His Name sake.  All we can express is that we are humbled by His wisdom, power & goodness.

Since our last prayer letter, God has graciously opened up a pastoral position for me (Calvin) in Chicago area, and I started last Sunday.  For Jeanette, God has led her to an ideal position at a great company, not as an entry level employee, but as a supervisor!  She started working this week as well.  Even our son will be graduating from college this summer.  How amazing, how kind & gracious our Lord is!

What Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 is profoundly true.  He explained, “But seek first His kingdom & His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

It’s quite difficult to explain all that’s going on in our hearts for they are full of emotions like excitement, gratitude, joy, sense of unworthiness, etc.  All I can say is that we find ourselves in worship of the One who is sovereign over all & is in control of our lives.  There is no other place we rather be than in God’s glorious presence.

On the other hand, we are saddened to inform you that this blog post will be our final one since we are no longer serving as full-time missionaries in Taiwan although I don’t think we could ever stop loving & praying for the people of Taiwan.  The same commitment applies to all of you as well.  We will continue to pray for you in truth & love.  We are comforted by the fact that although our ministry has taken a different direction, our partnership/friendship in Christ continues, and it is our hope that we will continue to encourage & challenge your faith & life.

Let me end with words from Psalm 18:1-2.

“I love you, O LORD, my strength.

The LORD is my rock, my fortress & my deliverer;

My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge.

He is my shield & the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
