Last week we finished our 2nd ministry visit to the city of Puxin.  We learned a lot.  We learned that there are still so many places where people have never heard the Good News of Jesus Christ even though He is their only hope of being set free from whatever binds them.  We were also reminded that the truth of God has to meet the people where they are, be personified in the visible lives of God’s servants, and that the love of Jesus Christ is best communicated in humility.

One of the reasons why I truly long for the day when we get to see the Lord face to face is this that everything will be disclosed, especially the stories of grace & sacrifice that we never got to hear because humility has a way of hiding them.  It hides them not out of expectation of greater reward later, a form of delayed gratification, but because to a humble heart, love & obedience in themselves are what brings joy & satisfaction.  I saw a glimpse of this in our colleagues.

I still have so much to learn.

1 Peter 5:5b explains,

“God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.”

As we move further into this missionary journey, we are reminded time and time again that what we need the most is His grace.  It is for this very reason that God permits frustrations, discouragement, loneliness, helplessness, etc. in our lives, so that in humility we will experience the fullness of His grace.

Below are some pictures we’ve taken during our visit to Puxin.
